Meet the New Digifloat

After months of planning, hours of designing, endless testing, a questionable amount of second-guessing, and at least two existential crises later…

I’m finally ready to introduce the all-new Digifloat.

We’ve rebranded everything from top to bottom, leaving very little untouched. So, let’s discuss all the nitty-gritty details of how it came together.

Why We Needed This Rebranding

The simplest and most honest answer is that our brand identity was outdated. Although we had a soft spot for the old Digifloat (it helped us get where we are), it no longer reflected who we’ve become.

Our services have evolved, our audience has changed, and we’ve learned a lot from the people we interact with every day. And it was time for everything else to catch up.

So we took a step back and reconsidered everything about the brand.

I asked myself:

  • Do our services still align with what our clients actually need?
  • How can we better reflect where Digifloat is today?
  • Are we making it easy for people to see themselves working with us?
  • Does our brand reflect the kind of company our team is proud to be part of?

And most importantly, are we building a brand that can grow with us, rather than needing another overhaul a year from now?

Those questions became the starting point for everything that came next.

So What's New?

There’s a lot that’s changed; let’s go through this in sections:

The Visual Shift

This is probably where you’ll notice the biggest difference. Almost every visual element of Digifloat (well, except our logo) is revamped. We have a new illustration style featuring a whole cast of animal characters (more about them later), updated page layouts, custom icons, a refreshed color palette, and a completely new typeface.

New Digifloat

My goal here was to make each of these elements distinctive without losing the simplicity. I wanted to be modern without chasing every design trend. And honestly, I think we nailed it.

A Clearer Direction

An important part of our rebrand was getting clearer about who we are, what we do, and where we want to go. Here’s how we went about this:

1. Our Mission, Vision & Values Got Sharper

I always had a solid mission and a set of values for my company. So things didn’t have to start from scratch. I just wanted to bring it closer to what we believe in and where we’re headed.

We tweaked our mission statement, added a vision statement, and refined our values. You can see how they all come together on our about page.

New Digifloat

Do keep in mind that none of these ideas are new to us. I’ve been building Digifloat around them for years. We’ve simply given them more clarity and structure.

2. We Found a Better Way to Show What We Do

I took a closer look at how we present our services. Our scope never fully captured everything that our subscription offered. Now, we have a clear breakdown of 110+ creative services, thoughtfully organized in easy-to-browse categories.

3. We Highlighted Where We Shine

We’ve always worked with different kinds of clients. But I felt we weren’t doing a great job of showing how Digifloat could fit into their specific needs.

So rather than trying to speak to everyone in exactly the same way, we’ve now highlighted the different types of businesses, teams, and creators who can get the most out of our services.

New Digifloat

My goal isn’t to limit who we work with, but to make it easier for the right people to see themselves using Digifloat.

4. We Defined What Makes Digifloat Different

And finally, I spent a lot of time thinking about what actually makes Digifloat different. I looked at our clients, our team, and the wider market to understand where we stand apart.

Now our value proposition comes through much more clearly across the new website. You’ll notice this in the way we talk about our services and the messaging throughout our key pages.

Finding Our Voice

On the same note of how we talk, I also reanalyzed our brand voice. Our team has always been intentional about how we communicate. I just wanted to expand on what we were already saying.

We rewrote a lot of our existing copy and added a bunch of new pages. We tried to answer questions we hadn’t addressed before and actually explain our services in more detail. We have also made it easier for people to compare our subscription against other options. All while making sure more of our personality comes through in the process.

The Digifloat Crew

I saved the most exciting part for last. We have new teammates joining us, and you might have seen them all across our website.

New Digifloat Crew

Let me introduce them one by one:

Oliver Owler 🦉

The one who’s always on top of things.

Oliver is thoughtful and a bit of a perfectionist. He’s usually the first to notice when something feels a little off. You’ll find him on every page ready to welcome you in and introduce what’s inside.

Flo Foxman 🦊

The one with all the clever ideas.

Flo is curious and quick on her feet, probably coming up with three ideas before you’ve even finished explaining the problem. You can rest assured she’ll always point you in the right direction.

Peter Pandason 🐼

The one who always keeps his cool.

Peter is the calmest one on our team, but his patience gets tested every day since he sits next to Flo. You can find him happily working through design after design, revision after revision, without breaking a sweat.

Fiona Flamingold 🦩

The one who always stands out.

Fiona is a team player. She keeps an eye on what’s happening across the board and somehow manages to work with everyone at once. You'll always hear her say, “How can I help?”

Carl Catwell 😼

The one who does things his own way.

Carl prefers to stay laid-back but can’t help asking a lot of questions, which is probably why he hangs around our FAQs. Also, for some reason, he wears sunglasses indoors all day.

Paige Pigley 🐷

The one who’s always in the know.

Paige is the most social one of the bunch. She’ll always stop by for a quick chat, whether it’s about work, weekend plans, or the latest office gossip.

Miles Monkeypants 🐵

The one who never sits still.

Miles is curious and energetic, with a habit of getting involved in absolutely everything. He likes to take a scenic route to work, and you’ll always find him doing something unconventionally.

Dylan Duckington 🦆

The one who never misses a beat.

Dylan is enthusiastic and never seems to run out of energy. He also likes a drum roll before getting to the point. Can you tell that Miles and Dylan are best friends?

What Remains the Same?

While quite a lot has changed, the most important thing hasn’t – our goal of making design more accessible to businesses of all sizes.

We still want to help your brand get the right creative support without the extra cost and commitment of managing an in-house team.

In short, our subscription model with unlimited design requests and revisions remains.

Our process of prioritizing quality and quick turnaround remains.

And most importantly, our awesome team remains.

The website may look different, but the people, the values, and the reason we started Digifloat in the first place are still here.

Now I ask you to go explore our new look and let me know what you think in the comments below. I’m hoping you’ll love it as much as we do!
